06/09/2010 - Grand-Prix Ruebliland
GP Rüebliland is done, it was a very hard stage race over 3 days and 4 stages. I finished
the first stage as 3rd and the second stage in the bunch of about 40 riders. I was really
looking forward to the TT, but I did a big mistake during the race and so I got second, 3
seconds behind Lasse Norman Hansen. So I was also second in the general classification
after the TT. The last stage was a very hard one, we had 4 climbs to absolve and my
target was the yellow jersey. So I attacked with 70 km's to go and joined together with
Olivier Daan from Nederlands a big front group of 15 riders. The group worked very well
together and so we had an advantage of about 1:30 minutes on the bunch with 30 km's to
go. There were still 3 climbs to absolve and I attacked immediatly on the first one of them.
After that, there were only 5 riders left, we worked well together and did it to the finish with
about 2 minutes of advantage on the bunch. So finally I won the General classification, the
points classification and the mountains jersey.

WORLD CHAMPION Time Trial
The world championchips are done. After a long period of preparation, friday was the big day for
me, the Time Trial. I felt very good before the start, but the 3 first km's were pretty hard cause I had problems
to find my rythm. But on the following km's, I felt good and I won a lot of time in the uphills. Finally I did a perfect
race and I won the race with 27 seconds ahead of Jasha Sütterlin from Germany and 28 on Lawson Graddok from USA. (find photos in the gallery section) |
